RFH Brexit Update 23 March

25 March 2020
RFH Brexit Update 23 March. Eu Commission draft legal text for future partnership relationship.

Brexit Developments

EU Commission draft legal text for future partnership relationship: The EU Commission claim that it translates into a legal text the negotiating directives approved by Member States in the General Affairs Council on 25 February 2020, in line with the Political Declaration agreed between the EU and the UK in October 2019 and that the text follows consultations with the European Parliament and Council, and aims to provide a tool to support the negotiations and to enable progress with the UK. EU Commission publish detailed readiness notices for stakeholders on EU Exit: The European Commission is reviewing, and where necessary updating, over 100 sector-specific stakeholder ‘preparedness notices’ it published during the Article 50 negotiations with the United Kingdom. The updated ‘notices for readiness’ remind all interested parties of the legal situation applicable as of the end of the transition period whether a future partnership agreement is concluded or not. The notices also explain certain rules of the withdrawal agreement where relevant, as well as the rules applicable to Northern Ireland as of the end of the transition period:
