Department for International Trade gears up for post-Brexit responsibilities:

  • Trade remedies – The department has published updated guidance on its approach to the investigation of trade issues and also a detailed application process. View > View >  
  • Strategic Trade Advisory group - The department has issued a call for expressions of interest to join a group of 18 experts to advise Ministers on trade policy through high-level strategic discussion – Responses by 14 August. View >

Trade and Agriculture Commission: Secretary of State Liz Truss has formally launched the new commission which is intended to provide advice on trade policies the government should adopt to secure opportunities for UK farmers, while ensuring the sector remains competitive and that animal welfare and environmental standards in food production are not undermined, advancing and protecting British consumer interests and those of developing countries, WTO engagement to advance animal welfare and identifying and opening up new export opportunities for the UK agricultural industry. The commission reports directly to the International Trade Secretary and will produce an advisory report at the end of its six months’ work. View >
