DWF celebrates growth and expansion in Ireland

22 April 2018
Dublin
The Dublin office of DWF is celebrating a five years' presence in Ireland and a recent period of accelerated growth and development.

The Dublin office of international legal business DWF is celebrating a five years' presence in Ireland and a recent period of accelerated growth and development, marked by more than 120% increase in turnover and over 50% growth in client base in the last twelve months, plus the expansion of its high calibre team which now includes more than 50 people.

Renowned in the Irish market for its expertise in the insurance sector, DWF has strengthened its commercial team and focused on new markets resulting in a number of significant wins in key sectors such as financial services, real estate, dispute resolution, renewables and infrastructure.

The expansion drive is part of DWF’s wider strategic growth plans which includes the evolution of its global service delivery model. DWF has had a presence in Dublin since 2013 and a full service offering since 2016. In line with the provision of a wider range of services, DWF has seen a corresponding increase in its client base, turnover and profile in the Irish market. Key recent appointments include a number of Irish and international clients including Calor, Propiteer, Coillte, Nord LB, a number of insurers, the pillar banks and several alternative lenders that are increasingly active in the Irish market.

Significant deals led by DWF Ireland over the last year include advising the US digital media company, Irish Studio, on the acquisition of six consumer magazines from publishing house Harmonia, advising Erris Resources on its admission to AIM and advising Capital Stage AG (Encavis) on its partnership with the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund to invest in a 140MW portfolio of solar PV projects.

Speaking at a celebratory event for clients and stakeholders at the National Gallery, Ross Little, Executive Partner of DWF Ireland said:

“Ireland is a vibrant and very important economy on the global stage and DWF's continued growth confirms our long-term commitment to the Irish market. This five-year period of sustained growth and activity is a significant milestone for DWF Ireland. We are busy and constantly winning new high-quality legal work. Indeed, the growth of DWF on the island of Ireland reflects the international growth model for DWF and the hard work of all our team. The success of our Ireland offering confirms our decision to commit resources to Dublin and Belfast to build a sustainable and recognised legal business."
