Held on Saturday 9th February, the competition involved law students from across Scotland representing the Universities of Abertay, Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Strathclyde competing against each other to win a work experience placement at DWF, as well as a host of other prizes.
The competition involved a mock legal debate in front of a judge, Herbert Kerrigan QC, with competitors arguing opposing sides of a legal issue, in a realistic setting to replicate the experience of presenting a case in court. Following a close final between two teams from the University of Glasgow, the winners were Dylan Higgins and Ryan Scott, who will both undertake work placements with DWF.
The competition was launched by the University of Dundee Mooting Society in 2016 and is named after the late Lord Jones, a Dundee graduate who was instrumental in founding the competition.
