DWF Managing Director claims top honours at Lawyers Weekly Awards

03 June 2019
Managing Director, Jamie McPherson awarded Partner of the Year, Workplace Health & Safety Relations at the Lawyer’s Weekly Partner of the Year Awards, 2019.

DWF has today announced that Jamie McPherson has been named Partner of the Year in the category of Workplace Health & Safety Relations at the Lawyers Weekly’s Partner of the Year Awards, held in Sydney on May 30th.

The Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards, in partnership with Taylor Root, showcases outstanding performance by partners, or partner equivalent, across individual practice areas within the Australian legal industry —the only national awards program to do so.

The black tie event at Sydney’s Star Casino recognised the notable achievements of lawyers at the height of their career who demonstrate leadership, technical expertise, mentorship and business development skill.

Jamie has over 20 years’ experience in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), Employment Law and Queensland Workers’ Compensation and has acted for a wide range of corporations in the construction, property, logistics, environmental services, leisure and energy sectors, as well as major state Government agencies and authorities. He is also recognised as a leading personal injuries lawyer and has been instrumental in developing one of the Queensland’s largest WorkCover and self-insurance practices.

DWF entered the Australian legal market in 2017 and has since opened four offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Newcastle. DWF Australia now employs more than 130 people in Australia, including 27 principal lawyers and more than 60 other fee earners providing our clients with a range of complex, managed and connected services.

*As of 1 February, DWF Australia became an Incorporated Legal Practice (ILP). Under this new corporate structure, the title of partner has changed to principal lawyer.
