Experience
Laura is routinely instructed by major Insurers to defend high value personal injury claims. She has experience acting in all manner of major injury cases, including TBI, spinal cord injury, amputation, multi-trauma, chronic pain and functional disorders. She has also worked on a number of cross jursidiction cases including subrogation claims against foreign entities.
Laura has a special interest in spinal cord injury cases and is the Deputy Lead of DWF's 'Spinal Cord Injury Area of Core Excellence Group'. She strives to provide an excellent service to both her clients and the Insured but also aims to work in a collaborative manner with Claimant's solicitors to reach the best outcome for all parties on these sensitive claims.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys rugby (Ireland!), cold-water dipping, walks along the beach and CrossFit. She has also recently signed up to a photography course so you may see her with a camera in hand!

Recent cases
Spinal cord injury - Laura recently settled a long-standing spinal cord injury case for £5.9million, plus periodical payments for life on staged increments.
Contributory negligence - Laura settled a case at JSM involving a Claimant who was aged 14 at the time of injury. The Claimant ran in front of the Defendant's correctly proceeding vehicle and sadly suffered a number of serious injuries, including a severe TBI which caused ongoing cognitive and behavioural issues. The case settled for £7.5million at JSM which reflected a 33% deduction for contributory negligence.
