DWF's international real estate team is attending the annual MIPIM conference this week to build new connections across the industry and discuss future global trends and opportunities.
An eighteen-strong team from DWF's UK, Milan, Berlin, Munich, Paris and Dublin offices are attending the event this year. This is the largest delegation DWF has sent to the event, reflecting the rapid growth of the business and its real estate sector in the last few years.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Brexit, our investment partner teams have reported increased activity in the key areas of office, industrial and retail markets this year, along with further increased activity in recent months in renewables, hotels, student accommodation, healthcare and distribution sectors. The annual MIPIM event will enable our experts to identify further opportunities in these core areas through active engagement with professionals across the industry, and is an opportunity for the DWF real estate team to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the international real estate sector.
As well as providing an opportunity to meet new clients and make new contacts, the event allows the DWF delegates to support existing clients and strengthen relationships with them. The event is also used to make contact with DWF clients who are currently using the services of another part of the business and to facilitate networking between DWF clients.
DWF has opened a number of new offices in the last 12 months and made some key appointments to the real estate team including partners Charles Koskas and Florence Karila who joined the Paris office and lawyer Daniele Zanni, who is based in DWF's newly opened Milan office. The business opened a new office in Berlin in April 2017, which included the addition of real estate lawyer Irene Schmid, and in early October 2017 further real estate expertise was added with two new offices in Brisbane and Melbourne.
