DWF appoints AI specialist as CEO of Managed Services

07 June 2019
Global legal business DWF has appointed Mark St John Qualter as CEO of its Managed Services division.

Mark joins DWF from RBS where he was Head of Artificial Intelligence for the bank's Commercial and Private Banking business. At DWF, Mark will lead the development and delivery of its strategy to build a global Managed Services platform. Mark joined DWF on 1 June.

Mark has been with RBS for 18 years and has held several strategy and business transformation roles within the RBS group.  In his most recent role, Mark founded the AI capability for Commercial and Private Banking.  Mark is also a governor and chairs the audit committee at the Manchester Metropolitan University and was previously a Council Member of the CBI's Regional Council for Yorkshire and Humberside.

Andrew Leaitherland, CEO of DWF Group Plc, said: "Further developing our Managed Services capability is a strategic priority for our business. We believe that our ability to serve clients through our Complex, Managed and Connected delivery platforms differentiates us in the market. It also responds to the increasing trend among large multinational businesses to simplify their global supplier base of outsourced legal and connected services. We have already indicated that £10m of the capital raised through our IPO will be used to invest in our IT infrastructure and Managed Services platform and we are delighted that Mark will bring his experience and commercial acumen to this transformation programme."

Mark St John Qualter said: "I am excited to join DWF and look forward to helping the business successfully deliver its Managed Services strategy. In my time at RBS I have regularly been a user of legal services and have seen significant change in the way larger businesses want to engage. DWF is very well-placed to provide an attractive alternative to the traditional law firm model."

Anup Kollanethu, the current CEO of Managed Services, has been instrumental in establishing DWF's Managed Services offering. Anup has decided to leave DWF and we wish him every success with his future.  Anup will remain with the business to support Mark with his transition.
