"Despite a slight decline in inflation, the ONS’ report indicates that pressure on consumers' disposable income continues to increase as a result of rises in the cost of housing, utilities and food and drink. Consumers consequently have less money to spend on extras such as clothing and fashion. This is further bad news for Britain’s fashion retailers who are up against poor weather and the ongoing struggle to stabilise their businesses - despite the number entering into CVAs. There looks to be little respite for fashion retailers in the coming months."
