DWF advises CMAC Group on £80.2m sale to ComfortDelGro

21 February 2024
DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has advised CMAC Group (CMAC), a UK-based ground transport management and accommodation network specialist, on its £80.2m sale to ComfortDelGro, a Singapore-listed global mobility service provider.

CMAC has an extensive network of suppliers to provide around-the-clock pre-planned and on-demand emergency passenger transport and accommodation solutions to businesses in the rail, travel, healthcare, corporate and public sectors. Its operations cover the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece and the Netherlands, managing disruptions and journeys for close to three million travellers annually on behalf of airlines, ground handlers, train operators, and companies.

ComfortDelGro is headquartered in Singapore and operates a total fleet size of 34,000 buses, taxis and rental vehicles, and 210km of rail network. It already owns and operates a range of transportation services across the United Kingdom. With the acquisition of CMAC, ComfortDelGro now provides mobility services in 12 countries worldwide.

Partner, Jonathan Robinson led the Corporate team at DWF, who advised CMAC, alongside Rebecca Gargary, Tom Rank, Katy Butler and Raili Haslam.

Jonathan Robinson said: “Having worked with the CMAC team for some time we are delighted to have supported CMAC on this successful transaction. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of the integration of CMAC and ComfortDelGro's operations in providing extensive mobility services and increase connectivity among UK communities.”

Peter Slater, CEO of CMAC Group said, “We are excited to be part of a growing global mobility group. At the same time, I’m immensely proud of CMAC’s history and achievements, which wouldn’t have been possible without our strong team, valued clients and trusted supply partner network. This move will allow CMAC to build on our strategy and grow alongside ComfortDelGro Group while continuing to deliver highly valued services to our customers and partners. We'd also like to thank our advisers DWF Law and KPMG for their help and support with the transaction”
