Experience
Kirsty's main focus is on advisory work, having advised food, product, and consumer clients on entering new market areas, the creation and development of new products, product safety and compliance, through to dealing with supply chain and post-market issues.
Day to day Kirsty advises on all regulated product regimes covering all elements of the product or service; the product/service itself, packaging, the customer journey, consumer regulation, and the method of sale. She is active in advocacy during policy and legislative developments, most recently having engaged directly with the UK Government on their Product Safety Review.
Kirsty has a particular interest in sustainability and ESG in both her professional and personal life, regularly advising on ESG areas such as single use plastic, packaging, deforestation, extended producer responsibility, and novel foods. Kirsty also undertakes specific environmental and ESG due diligence in corporate deals. Kirsty has undertaken extensive work in recent years on the impact of Brexit on consumer clients and trade, specifically on compliance cross border and border controls. Most recently this focus has been on the Windsor Framework and Northern Ireland.
She recently wrote an article for the European Food and Feed Law Review titled "Post-Brexit Food Trade: A Consideration of Intra UK and Inter UK-EU Border Controls and Food Law Regulatory Divergence".
