Event Details
You're invited to a poetry reading and discussion with Marjorie Lotfi, a poet, a seasoned performer and a facilitator of creative writing. Marjorie's poetry examines journeys and questions of belonging, particularly relating to the experiences of refugees and migrants. This reading will take its starting point in 1970s Tehran, with Iran on the cusp of revolution, and explores ideas of flight, journey and assimilation. Join us to hear Marjorie's poetry intertwined with her personal experience and creative process.
Marjorie is a trained lawyer, a hardworking mum and co-founder of the charity Open Book Reading. Marjorie will also share some of the work and words produced in her creative writing workshops with refugee women in Glasgow.
