Key take away this week
We have a deal! After weeks of concern that this may not happen at all, it now appears that the first step towards our future is on the table; the Withdrawal Agreement. While details of its contents remain unclear as we write, it is already appearing that the Prime Minister may have an equally large job getting the Agreement ratified by the Cabinet and then through the House of Commons.
This deal sets the scene for the future and is vitally important. We will be tracking the action for you as we step closer to knowing the shape of our future. It cannot come soon enough.

Transitional period for food name and address changes:
DEFRA have issued a consultation to ascertain how long food businesses will need to include UK names and addresses on food packaging to be used in the UK – Closes 4th December. View >
UK Government writes to Court of Justice of EU: The UK Government has sent ‘observations’ to the European Court following a question being posed by the Scottish Court of sessions as to whether the UK can unilaterally withdraw its article 50 application to leave the EU. The UK Government's position is that the court should not deal with a hypothetical matter and also that this is a matter for the member states rather than the court. View >
