Off-site and modern methods of construction (MMC) are hailed as the new way of working by the construction industry. In DWF Adjusting’s recent webinar, 71% of our audience, when asked if MMC increased or decreased risk, voted that risk will decrease.
Recent press coverage has contained some negative risk commentary, albeit we do note that out of our varied webinar audience, many underwriters voted that risk will increase. Despite the poll result, therefore, perhaps the jury is still out on this issue in some quarters?

- Transport.
As we all consider what life is going to be like when we return to the office, our audience was also asked, 'Will COVID-19 increase the use of MMC?' 92% voted yes to this, demonstrating that post COVID-19, a real opportunity exists to implement these new technologies and ways of working.

The benefits of off-site construction and MMC – speed, waste reduction, reduced cost, together with the increased pressure to build quickly and in an affordable way, means the promotion of off-site construction and MMC as a feasible solution will continue.
