DWF Australia is pleased to note the recent announcement by Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Yvette D’Ath, regarding magisterial appointments to various Queensland Courts.
Principal Lawyer and Brisbane-based DWF principal lawyer Mr Cameron McKenzie, has been appointed to the Magistrates Court at Southport.

A commercial litigation specialist with more than 20 years' experience and a strong commitment to social justice, the appointment as Magistrate was a natural progression for  Mr McKenzie.

DWF's Australian Managing Director Mr Jamie McPherson said: "We congratulate Cameron on this prestigious appointment, which is the culmination of his increasing commitment over recent years to public service. Cameron is the first DWF lawyer to be appointed to the Magistracy, and we're proud to have attracted such a senior and talented lawyer to the firm. We wish him the very best in this new and challenging role".

Cameron sits on the Queensland Law Society's Domestic & Family Violence Committee (Deputy Chair), Alternate Dispute Resolution Policy Committee and Insolvency & Restructuring Committee (immediate past Chair).

In 2017 Cameron was appointed to the Insolvency Practitioner Disciplinary Committee by the Minister for Revenue and Financial Services, and in 2018 was appointed as Queensland Law Society representative to the Appeal Costs Board by the Minister for Justice and Attorney General.

Mr McPherson added: "DWF's Australian growth continues unabated and we look forward to joining with ambitious, high-calibre lawyers aligned with our mission to positively disrupt the Australian legal services market for the benefit of our clients".
