Allianz and DWF were highly commended for the work they have done jointly in the identification and tracking through data analytics and tackling the rise of fraudulent Cavity Wall Insulation claims affecting Allianz insureds.
Allianz and DWF worked together to track changes in the Claimant market from specific farmer entities who have moved from pursuing claims for holiday sickness and noise induced hearing loss into the Cavity Wall Insulation area, largely as a consequence of the unintended consequences of the Whiplash Reforms. The aim was to combat adverse behaviours of farmers who saw this area as an area to exploit.
Together Allianz and DWF analysed data, identified strategies pre and post litigation and worked with a multi-disciplinary team to defeat fraudulent Cavity Wall cases, disrupting farmers' operating models and achieving nearly £3m in indemnity savings in 2022.
James Burge, Head of Counter Fraud, Allianz Commercial said "Having a robust strategy to handle the movement of claims farmers from one targeted area to another is essential. By appointing our strategic legal partner DWF, we were able to create an agile ‘end to end’ CWI counter-fraud strategy, which was bolstered by outstanding collaboration across our organisations, plus maximising our shared analytical and data led capability to achieve a great result for not only our business but the industry too".
Jonathan Head, Director, DWF said "Allianz and DWF applied a unique approach, dealing with spurious farmed cavity wall claims. Analysing data/geo-mapping, identifying cases likely to be spurious. Reaping fantastic results, farmers left the CWI market for the good of the entire industry as claims didn't pay".
This high acclaim is attributed to the strong relationship harnessed by DWF and Allianz. For more information about how DWF's Counter Fraud team can support your needs, please visit DWF Fraud.
