James advises insurers and reinsurers in complex coverage disputes, particularly in the areas of political risk, trade credit and onshore energy. He has also advised on specie, terrorism, property, product recall / product liability, fine art and reinsurance claims. He has handled cases of all sizes, from smaller single-insurer claims through to large-market, multi-jurisdictional disputes. He has extensive experience in arbitral proceedings, especially under LCIA rules. He has also handled several cases that have been litigated in English courts.
As well as coverage, James also advises on recoveries. In the trade credit market, he has advised insurers on numerous debt restructuring and reschedulings.
