Brave New Law: Modern morals, ethics and legal advice

Date: 16 October 2024, 12:00 - 13:00
Location: Online
0919 People at event 767
The focus for the webinar will be how in-house lawyers can effectively influence their organisational culture as well as navigating the maze of ethical and moral issues thrown up in the modern world. Legality is central but can no longer be the only framework through which advice is modulated.

Event details

This is a timely analysis as The Law Society, in association with the Inter-Disciplinary Ethics Applied Centre, at the University of Leeds is undertaking research into developing an ethical framework for in-house lawyers in the UK.

Topics that our webinar will cover include:

  • How legal advisors must balance risk- both challenges and opportunities; a business first mind-set; as well as wide-ranging legal and ethical implications.
  • Should general counsel and legal teams take more of a lead in defining the ethical and cultural values and behaviours of their organizations?
  • How the GC and their team can maximize the impact of their role in navigating ethical and cultural values.
  • The best ways to build relationships and influence stakeholders for maximum impact.
