Gender pay gap: Reporting suspended this year in light of the unprecedented pressure employers are facing

24 March 2020
In a joint statement, Minister for Women & Equalities, Liz Truss, and EHRC Chair, David Isaac, said:  “We recognise that employers across the country are facing unprecedented uncertainty and pressure at this time. Because of this we feel it is only right to suspend enforcement of gender pay gap reporting this year.”

The decision means there will be no expectation on employers to report their data.

The decision was taken jointly on 24th March between the Government Equalities Office (GEO) and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) that enforcement of the gender pay gap deadlines will be suspended for this reporting year (2019/2020).

More than 3000 employers have already reported their data on the gov.uk website and support is available from the GEO for employers who wish to report regardless.
