Scaling legal delivery: 25 years on

29 May 2026

As we reflect on 25 years of delivering alternative legal services, the past year stands out as a defining inflection point. What began as a specialist delivery function has evolved into a core execution engine at the centre of DWF Group’s integrated client offering.

Across Financial Year 2024–25 and into 2025–26, the practice scaled significantly – expanding across geographies, service lines, and complex client engagements while maintaining rigorous standards of quality, governance, and defensibility. Operating seamlessly across India, the UK, and the USA, our Legal Operations enabled high-volume, multi-jurisdictional delivery through a unified, disciplined operating model.

This growth has been deliberate. Anchored in deep client partnerships and capability-led services, the focus has remained on sustainable, high-quality scale. Today, Legal Operations is fully embedded within DWF’s advisory, litigation, regulatory, and transactional practices – delivering end-to-end legal solutions that combine expertise, efficiency, and certainty.

Technology-driven scale: Where AI meets measurable impact

Over the past year, our Legal Operations has moved from AI experimentation to fully embedded, production-grade delivery – driving tangible outcomes at scale:

  • 62,000+ hours of efficiency savings
  • 60% reduction in turnaround times
  • 30% improvement in output quality
  • 10M+ pages processed across matters

AI is now integrated across various volume areas – enhancing speed, consistency, and decision accuracy. All deployments are governed by a human-in-the-Loop (HITL) model, ensuring defensibility, control, and legal judgement – particularly for complex, cross-border matters.

In parallel, Microsoft Copilot and Power BI have been embedded into workflows, enabling real-time analytics, streamlined reporting, and reduced administrative overhead – freeing capacity for higher-value legal work.

Delivering at volume: Impact across core service lines

The scale of delivery over the past year reflects both our capability depth and operational maturity:

  • Litigation & Investigations: Processed 1.18M documents and reviewed 908K+ across 28 matters, supported by CAL/TAR for prioritisation and auditability. Modernised workflows using Relativity One and GenAI‑enabled review. Delivered 4+ TB processing in the UK, onboarded 40 new matters, and expanded cross border capability across the US, Canada, the Middle East, and Europe, alongside enhanced O365 and mobile collections.
  • Cyber Incident Services: One of the fastest-growing areas – handling 13.47 million documents and ~9.18 TB of data across 56 live matters, supporting time-critical, high-sensitivity incident response.
  • Contracts Management: Delivered 12,150+ redlining matters and 300,000+ abstractions; led migration of 160,000+ contracts. Supported M&A due diligence (10,000+ contracts) under advisory supervision – covering review, abstraction, summary reporting, and novation negotiations using advanced technology and a robust HITL model.
  • Horizon Scanning & Regulatory Intelligence: Delivered 6,000+ regulatory summaries, expanding coverage to 165 jurisdictions and 80 additional regulatory bodies, with outputs increasingly embedded into board-level and risk reporting frameworks.
  • Legal Operations Tech and Consulting team: Delivered enterprise CLM implementations (e.g., LawVu), AI-led solutions with measurable ROI, and embedded advisory support – operating as an extension of in-house legal teams to drive end-to-end transformation.

What differentiates Legal Operations is not only this scale – but how it is delivered. Fully integrated within the DWF Group, the function enables a single, cohesive approach across the legal lifecycle – combining advisory insight, operational execution, and technology-enabled intelligence.

Looking ahead, the focus is clear: advancing from technology-enabled delivery to technology-led legal operations, with agentic AI, advanced analytics, and intelligence platforms shaping the next phase of scale, efficiency, and client value.

After 25 years, we are not just adapting to the future of legal delivery – we are actively defining it.
