Marcus joins from London law firm RPC and specialises in subrogation and property insurance claims including fire and water damage and construction-related matters. He advises on large subrogated losses, one of which involved assisting insurers following a major incident at a £20m property in London. Marcus also works with clients on the resolution of claims involving contractors, engineers, architects, surveyors and other professionals mainly by way of litigation and/or ADR.
Kieran Walshe, Head of Professional Indemnity and Commercial Insurance at DWF, said: "With over 20 years' experience in the insurance market, Marcus will be a real asset to both the London and Bristol offices, adding to the already strong offerings in those locations. The insurance sector continues to change at a fast pace, and this brings with it challenges but also its opportunities. Marcus' in-depth work on subrogated recovery actions will play a key role in DWF's leading subrogation practice and adds to the great depth of our insurance sector capabilities."
Marcus added: "DWF is already well-known in the area of subrogation, I look forward to joining the team to further build on its strong client relationships and capabilities, using my experience in this sector to improve and expand the service for both clients and business needs."
DWF continues to expand its Insurance practice following the recent appointments of David Abbott as Head of London Markets and Johan Ismail as Head of Operations Services for Central Insurance.
