Commenting on the announcement made by the UK Government that an extra £9 million is being made available to ensure local councils and major ports are ready for Brexit, Jonathan Branton, head of public sector at DWF said:
"This extra cash is a very small amount in comparison to the enormous task ahead for the UK. This funding is too little, too late as it will be virtually impossible to create any new major infrastructure or do much else of great significance before October 31st. Of course, many other preparations have been undertaken, and only time will tell if they have been anywhere near sufficient, but this announcement looks like it is merely skimming the surface."
