Experience

Ben has over a decade of experience in handling large loss and catastrophic injury claims on behalf of insurers. He is regularly instructed to advise on motor indemnity issues and liability disputes, having successfully taken a number of claims to trial in the High Court and County Court.

Ben's caseload includes amputations, functional neurological disorders, brain injuries of all severities, fatal accidents, amputations, chronic pain and poly-trauma with values ranging from £100,000 to £10m+.

Throughout his career, Ben has developed a particular interest in claims involving amputations and is the deputy head of DWF's amputation ACE Group. He is well-versed in the issues that arise in these types of claims and works hard to stay abreast of technological advancements enabling him to give up to date advice with a view to achieving the best possible outcome for his clients.

Ben has also developed a sub-specialism in claims involving functional neurological disorders, often involving a dispute about diagnosis and causation. This has enabled him to develop a deep understanding of the complex medical, legal and rehabilitative aspects of such claims. Ben is a member of DWF's FND ACE group which is helping to shape the way that insurers approach these types of claims.

Ben is often recognised for his strategic approach and technical ability, working closely with insurers, case managers, experts and counsel to drive cases towards a cost-effective early resolution where possible, or to fight to trial where needed.

He has been ranked as a 'key lawyer' in the Legal 500 with clients describing him as an "outstandingly able lawyer" and a "pleasure to work with".
