DWF welcomes new partner to its dispute resolution team in London

14 May 2026
DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has appointed Chris Spelman as a partner in its dispute resolution team in London.

Chris joins DWF with more than ten years’ experience advising banks, corporates and senior individuals on complex litigation, regulatory issues and investigations across the UK and US. His practice focuses on financial services litigation and investigations, regulatory and whistleblowing matters, and class action, securities and shareholder disputes.

Prior to joining DWF, Chris worked at Slaughter and May in London, and at Milbank LLP and Cravath Swaine and Moore LLP in New York. He undertook a range of general commercial litigation matters, and in particular advised financial institutions, investment firms, corporates and executive management on high value, strategically significant disputes and complex regulatory investigations.

At DWF, Chris will work closely with colleagues across disputes, regulatory, insurance and DWF’s other practice areas to provide an integrated commercial litigation offering for clients facing complex and evolving contentious challenges.

Alongside his legal practice, Chris is actively involved in pro bono and community initiatives. He is a trustee of CharityComms and founded a non-profit organisation using music to support Irish children with additional needs.

Commenting on his appointment, Chris said: "DWF’s collaborative culture, multidisciplinary approach and ambitious growth strategy were central to my decision to join. There’s a real opportunity to develop a practice at the crossroads of financial services, regulatory risk and complex disputes, working closely with talented colleagues across the firm. I’m delighted to be part of a team that combines technical excellence with an entrepreneurial spirit, and I look forward to supporting clients on their most complex, business-critical matters.”

Stefan Paciorek, global head of dispute resolution at DWF, said: “Chris is an accomplished disputes and investigations lawyer with broad experience in financial services litigation, regulatory investigations, and class actions. His expertise and strategic approach are valuable additions to DWF, and we are pleased to welcome him.”
