Jill Sinclair said: "Fraud is often seen as a victimless crime but its effects can be felt far and wide, impacting on the most vulnerable in society, as well having severe financial implications. Being in a position to tackle this head on, on behalf of my clients with the support of my colleagues is the most satisfying part of my job and so to be recognised at the Scottish Legal Awards is valuable recognition for the strides we are making to combat fraudulent behaviour."
National Head of Counter Fraud at DWF, Lorraine Carolan, added: "I'm delighted that our Scottish counter fraud team has achieved these accolades from LV= and the Scottish Legal Awards. The award wins are well-deserved achievements for Jill and the rest of the team who continuously display true determination and excellence in tackling fraudulent activity. It is a testament to the hard work put in by the team and their collaboration with the industry to tackle fraudsters to include campaigning successfully for legislative change in the regulation of Claims Farmers."
The counter fraud team specifically focuses on the identification of fraud through a combination of legal expertise together with predictive analytics, profiling and intelligence consultants who analyse data, the market and drivers behind claims to look at emerging threats. They then work with key Industry bodies and insurers to develop innovative counter-fraud strategies to combat these threats.
