Elspeth is a Director in the Major Injury team, acting for insurers in claims of the utmost severity. As a solicitor of over 20 years’ qualification, she has extensive experience in traumatic brain injury claims across the severity spectrum, as well as cases involving serious orthopaedic injuries, amputations and fatal accidents. She also has experience of claims involving significant psychological injury, functional neurological disorder, and pain and somatoform disorders.The majority of Elspeth’s work arises from road traffic accidents, although she also handles high‑value employer’s and public liability claims. Her practice frequently involves complex issues of indemnity, liability and causation.
In appropriate cases, Elspeth adopts a constructive and proportionate approach to litigation, working with claimant solicitors, case managers and other professionals to support effective case progression. She has considerable experience of engaging in early discussions, attending multidisciplinary meetings and participating in route‑mapping exercises where this assists in narrowing issues and progressing matters towards resolution.
