Giles defends high value and complex injury and liability claims, for example those involving serious spinal injuries, somatoform pain disorder, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome, amputations and post traumatic stress disorder.
In addition to direct case handling, Giles' role involves generating new work from existing and target clients. He has responsibility for the management of several high profile accounts, and for the development and motivation of a team of solicitors and legal advisers. He regularly contributes to internal and external articles, and is involved in training both clients and colleagues.
He has extensive experience of employer's liability and public liability claims, and is also instructed in relation to high value road traffic and product liability litigation.
He is an experienced litigator and is regularly instructed in damages claims of over Ł1 million. His strategy is to resolve claims by way of solicitor-to-solicitor negotiations or mediation; however, inevitably some cases do end up at trial and he has numerous trial wins under his belt.
