Michael has been qualified as a German lawyer since 2021 and has focused his practice on insurance law from the outset of his career. He advises insurers as well as insured companies and individuals on complex liability and coverage matters. A key focus of his work is Financial Lines, in particular D&O insurance, alongside other large scale professional indemnity and liability claims, including matters arising from commercial, professional, product and motor liability.
Through a secondment in the German claims department of a major US industrial insurer, Michael has gained in depth insight into insurers’ internal claims handling processes. As a result, he supports clients not only on legal issues, but also on the strategic management of complex claims.
Michael is regularly instructed as monitoring counsel by insurers in high value and complex loss scenarios. He provides both strategic and procedural support and frequently represents clients in liability and coverage disputes before German courts. His work often involves large scale loss cases with significant economic and strategic exposure.
In addition, Michael is active in the field of occupational disability insurance and regularly represents insurers in disputes before German civil courts.

- Representing insurers in contentious and non contentious coverage disputes, including matters involving intentional breaches of duty, alleged precontractual non disclosure and faulty notifications of circumstances
- Acting in high value professional indemnity and other liability disputes, in particular arising from commercial, professional, product and motor liability
- Advising on complex large scale and serial loss scenarios with significant economic and strategic risk exposure
