Webinar recording – Inclusion and Diversity: A global perspective on "allyship" in the workplace

0731 Group of people768x528
Allyship is defined by Dictionary.com as "the status or role of a person who advocates and actively works for the inclusion of a marginalised or politicised group in all areas of society, not as a member of that group but in solidarity with its struggle and point of view and under its leadership". We are joined by Merryn Roberts, Senior International HR Manager, at Cintra Global who provides us with her invaluable insights into allyship in a global business.

You can now watch the webinar on-demand, access the accompanying slides and share with your colleagues:

It is widely accepted that inclusion and diversity is a fundamental part of any workplace and that employers which are able to create a genuinely inclusive environment will reap the rewards – from attracting talent to higher retention rates to increased profitability to a reduction in employment claims.

During this webinar we consider what it means to be an ally in the employment context and we give practical examples of how employers can promote allyship. Genuine inclusion and diversity cannot be achieved by strategies, policies and procedures alone – action needs to be taken.

We also consider the legal reasons why allyship is so important. With an outline of the legal parameters from across the globe we highlight the obligations on employers in respect of minority groups, and how allyship can go some way towards meeting those obligations.
