Experience
After a master's degree dedicated to food law at the University of Nantes, Emily practiced food law for 7 years with the law firm Coutrelis et Associés. She joined DWF in June 2021 as part of the international team specializing in food, agriculture and consumer goods.
Emily's main areas of practice are food and consumer goods' labeling and communication, their transformation and manufacturing process, product safety, novel foods, food supplements, animal feed as well as unfair trade practices and the growing challenges of the circular economy. Her practice covers French and international legal issues, with in-depth experience of the Codex Alimentarius.
Her expertise extends to both advisory and litigation work, where the firm has been involved in major and topical disputes (unauthorized additives in Blue Wine, beef meat from dairy cows, an array of cases relating to the presentation of meat imitation products).
Emily regularly publishes on these subjects in Lexxion's European Food and Feed Law Review and is a member of the European Food Law Association's board and conference committee.
Emily is recognized by Legal 500.

Recent Cases
Notable litigation:
- Since 2017: Assistance to a client on meat substitute issues (multiple actions, from first instance to the French Supreme Court, follow-up of the suspension and administrative summary proceedings relating to the Meat Names Decree before the Supreme Administrative Court then preliminary question CJUE).
- 2023: “Blue wine” case, acquittal of a French importer before the Bordeaux Court of Appeal.
