We would be delighted if you could join us alongside Cherie Blair and Tracy Vegro at our unique event on 14 November on 'Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence – ready, steady, get ahead’.

We will examine the impact of sustainable human and social capital on business including the EU’s proposed Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). This will impose an unparalleled and extensive corporate duty for many companies to perform due diligence to identify, prevent, mitigate and account for external harm resulting from adverse human rights and environmental impacts in the company’s own operations, its subsidiaries and in its value chain.

Who should attend?

This event will be of interest to C-suite level people with a responsibility for sustainability strategy, General Counsel and Heads of Legal, Non-Executive Directors, Executive Directors, Corporate Sustainability Officers.

Cherie Blair CBE KC, Chair, Omnia Strategy will start our discussion, based on her extensive experience as a leading barrister on human rights and corporate sustainability, and will explore the expanding role of business in promoting and protecting human rights.

Tracy Vegro OBE, CEO, Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments will share her insights on the regulatory and policy impact of human and social capital in business, given her experience as an Executive Director at the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA) and Financial Reporting Council (FRC), and as a Senior Civil Servant in Whitehall.

Hilary Ross, DWF UK & Ireland Regional Managing Partner will bring a sharp legal focus on the upcoming EU CSDDD. This will apply to businesses based both inside and outside of the EU and bring with it a “you-must-comply” obligation that will require action beyond mere reporting, and comes with a regulatory, civil enforcement and compensation mechanism.

Tracey Groves, DWF Head of Sustainable Business & ESG advisory practice, will use her award-winning expertise in helping senior leaders to assess, design and develop sustainable business strategies that are risk-based and proportionate to chair and navigate our session.
