Vento bands: Revised bands of compensation for injury to feelings
The Presidents of the Employment Tribunals have published the revised bands of compensation for injury to feelings in discrimination cases. The new bands are as follows:
Lower band – £1,300 to £12,600 for less serious cases
Middle band - £12,600 to £37,700 for cases that do not merit an award in the upper band
Upper band – £37,700 to £62,900 for the most serious cases
Exceptional cases – £62,900 or above
The new bands apply to claims presented on or after 6 April 2026 and will be reviewed annually.
In respect of claims presented in Scotland, the bands remain subject to paragraph 12 of the Presidential Guidance issued on 5 September 2017.
