DWF advises Ryze Hydrogen

05 December 2022

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, advises Ryze Hydrogen on Hydrogen supply and purchase contracts and investments associated with its business growth.

Ryze Hydrogen ("Ryze") supply clean hydrogen and hydrogen infrastructure for transport, industry, domestic heating and other applications, creating green jobs and supporting vital progress towards Net Zero.  Ryze supplies organisations wanting to decarbonise their operations through the use of clean hydrogen for heavy-duty vehicles and long-range fleet operators, through to industry, and domestic energy users.

DWF advised Ryze on aspects associated with project structuring and partnering arrangements with their project partners. DWF has also advised Ryze in connection with hydrogen off-take agreements to supply national bus and rail organisations who are transforming their fleet of vehicles to hydrogen fuel cells and long-term supply arrangements were agreed to secure the efficiency of the fleets.

DWF congratulates Ryze in connection with its recent announcement for its plans to jointly build and operate hydrogen production facilities aimed at providing a reliable supply of hydrogen for industry and transportation to kick-start the development of a “UK hydrogen economy”.

The new partnership will explore how the UK can work with international hydrogen production facilities to move low-cost renewable power converted to hydrogen and hydrogen derivates to areas of high demand.

DWF's multidisciplinary Energy team has been advising clients on transactions involving the production and marketing of hydrogen and is recognised as an industry-leader in this nascent sector.

Partner, and Global Co-Head of Energy Darren Walsh said, "Hydrogen is a powerful energy vector, identified by the European Commission as integral to meeting the Paris Agreement’s goals on decarbonisation in the sectors of heavy industry, long-range transport, and home heating."

"This has led to the emergence of an abundance of regional-level and national-level strategies on hydrogen, targeting rapid, decisive development of hydrogen technologies to enable a coordinated transition towards a net zero-carbon economy."

"We are delighted to have been working with Ryze Hydrogen on its development and distribution of clean hydrogen and hydrogen infrastructure and supporting this vital progress towards Net Zero".
