In this webinar, our Head of Insurance Damien van Brunschot and Senior Associate Matthew Giles from our Employment and Safety team, will consider all of the relevant changes made by the Anti-Discrimination and Human Rights Legislation Amendment (Respect at Work) Act 2022 (Cth).

Event Details

In particular, we will examine the positive duty on employers to take reasonable and proportionate measures to eliminate sex discrimination, sexual harassment and victimisation in the workplace, and the powers of the Australian Human Rights Commission in relation to same. We will also discuss the relevant background to the legislation, in order to give you a better understanding of its purpose and ensure your business complies with same.

While the legislation is not strictly applicable to compensation claims, we will also highlight how the legislation is likely to have a significant impact when determining foreseeability and breach in a common law claim.

You may submit questions for consideration before the webinar by emailing us here. Alternatively, you will have the opportunity to ask questions during the live webinar via the chat box function.

We hope to see you at this upcoming webinar.
