18 December 2020

DWF is delighted to announce that it will have strong representation across a number of the Property Council of Australia’s (PCA) 2021 Committees. This will see DWF playing an important role in contributing to the development of the property industry in various states in Australia.

DWF's 2021 PCA Committee appointments include:

  • Andrea Towson, Principal Lawyer, Melbourne: Appointed to the PCA Victoria 'Planning and Infill' Committee
  • Alexander Wheeler, Senior Associate, Newcastle: Appointed to the PCA NSW 'Hunter Future Directions' Committee
  • Alex McLeod, Associate, Sydney: Appointed to the PCA NSW 'Illawarra Future Directions' Committee
  • Jo Blanch, Paralegal, Newcastle: Appointed to the PCA NSW 'Hunter Chapter' Committee

Commenting on the announcement, Richard Abbott, DWF’s Head of Real Estate Sector in Australia said: “It is a great result to see so many exemplary representatives from DWF being appointed to various PCA Committees for 2021. I would like to congratulate my colleagues on their appointments, and I am certain they will do an excellent job in representing the business and applying their expertise in the Real Estate Sector to assist the PCA Committees in their work.”

The PCA Victorian 'Planning and Infill' Committee is responsible for policy development across all areas of Victoria’s panning system (except Greenfields) with a strong focus on infill development.

The NSW 'Hunter Future Directions' and 'Illawarra Future Directions' Committees are for aspiring leaders in the property industry. A key focus for these committees is to develop an industry networking and professional development platform for young property professionals (under 35s).

The NSW 'Hunter Chapter' Committee represents the property industry in the Hunter region. A key focus for this committee is to continue to implement the initiatives for the Lower Hunter reform agenda and the review of planning controls for key councils. The Committee also looks after the development of Hunter lunches, forums and professional development seminars.
