Experience
Ed has 12 years' Defendant PI experience and handles multi-track claims valued at up to £1m. Ed started his career as a claimant lawyer before moving into Defendant insurance work in 2012.
His formative years spent handling sub-£100k claims helped develop his commercial awareness and the importance of customer experience, claims cycles and managing indemnity spend. In addition to running his own cases, Ed provides high-level assistance with all aspects of catastrophic injury cases valued well in excess of £1 million; such as amputation, chronic pain and severe TBI claims for both adults and minors.
He is experienced in handling liability investigations, advising on complex indemnity issues and dealing with all types of quantum issues ranging from care to credit hire. He has experience of advocating at CCMC’s and application hearings, contributing at JSM’s and pathways/way forward meetings and attending/reporting on inquests, trials and appeals when required. Ed has provided training to clients on topics including motor liability, Part 36 offers, pre-litigation tactics and statutory funding. Ed is people orientated and has often been instructed to manage sensitive cases with insured's or litigants in person.
He has been the nominated solicitor overseeing claims for various self-insured clients. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, playing football to the best of his very limited ability, watching Preston North End FC, reading, running and cycling.
