Poupak’s career spans 28 years. She has worked on numerous complex high value disputes across the globe, including Africa, the Middle East, South America, the Far East, Europe and the Caribbean. She has conducted international arbitrations under the auspices of the LCIA, ICC, HKIAC and UNCITRAL arbitration rules.
Poupak has also worked in house as the General Counsel of a petrochemicals company operating in the MENA region and has a considerable amount of transactional as well as disputes experience. She has both negotiated, and advised on disputes arising from, various project agreements including EPC contracts, engineering agreements, PMC agreements, supply agreements, offtake agreements and technology licence agreements, as well as corporate and commercial documents such as equity subscription agreements, shareholder agreements, convertible loan agreements and articles of association. Thus she has a very strong technical knowledge of project development and an excellent grasp of project financing, placing her in a unique position to advise and represent clients in disputes arising from projects.
