DWF's Menopause Group named Employee Network of the Year by ENEI

12 December 2022

DWF's Menopause Group has been recognised at the ENEI (Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion) Inclusivity Excellence Awards as their Employee Network of the Year.

Jack Cluer, Commercial Manager at Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion said:

'The Judges were thoroughly impressed with the work being delivered by the network. It was clear that the impact and outcomes have made a significant difference to colleagues throughout the organisation.

One of the key components that had an impact on the panel was the work of the Menopause Group is now transcending their own organisation and are collaborating with clients on best practice advice in this area and beginning to build shared support networks and programmes.'

This is a fantastic acknowledgement of the hard work undertaken by the members of the group throughout 2022.

Tamsin McCarthy, DWF Global D&I Manager,  was at the ENEI Inclusivity Excellence Awards event to accept the accolade on behalf of the Menopause Group. She said,

'We are delighted that our Menopause Group has been recognised as the Employee Network of the Year. This win was truly a group effort. The members of our Menopause Group have played a pivotal role in extending menopause support at DWF over the last year. Their sharing of experiences, feedback, and ideas have helped to support others and normalise conversations about menopause in the workplace.'

In 2022 the Menopause group has:

  • Signed the Workplace Menopause Pledge.
  • Launched a new Menopause Policy.
  • Collaborated with clients LV= and the Government Legal Department and on a webinar in which a panel of colleagues, including male allies, shared their experiences of the menopause.
  • Held Menopause Coffee and Chat sessions every 6 weeks, varying times to provide global access to the support network.
  • Created an ongoing Menopause Support Action plan.
  • Introduced a new menopause support voluntary benefit.
  • Extended the support and resources available via the Menopause Hub in the DWF Intranet.
  • Implemented a feedback form for colleagues to provide their views on menopause support and share ideas.
