Mark is Partner and Head of Corporate for the firm's Birmingham office.

Experience

He has over 20 years' experience of all aspects of corporate finance work including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, management buy-outs and buy-ins, corporate re-organisations and fund raising.

Mark acts for a range of clients ranging from multi-national plc's to SME's across a wide range of sectors. His work is focused on commercial objectives and an understanding of client needs, grounded in extensive experience of many complex transactions. His recent experience includes:

  • Advising on the disposal of a subsidiary for Stanley Black & Decker and a subsequent multi million pound cross border acquisition for Stanley Black & Decker.
  • Advising Leviton on its acquisition of JCC Advanced Lighting, a strategic acquisition establishing a significant presence in the UK for Leviton, enabling future growth both in the UK and overseas.
  • Advising the management team of Park Holidays UK on its Ł172 million sale to and investment by Caledonia Investments plc. In addition, a Ł10 million acquisition and capital expenditure facility has been arranged to assist the future expansion of the business.
  • Advising Tentec Limited on its acquisition by Atlas Copco _ one of Sweden's largest industrial companies, supporting not only Tentec's future growth but also complimenting Atlas' current offering and enabling it to better service its client base.

His work is frequently multi-jurisdictional, in particular working with a wide range of Russian corporates and Russian counsel on the English law aspects of transactions. Recent transactions have included advising Probusiness Bank (a Russian bank) on a complex scheme of reorganisation involving share buy backs from a number of shareholders, subsequent share sales and a demerger of Probusiness Bank and Bank24.ru all governed by English Law.

Outside of work Mark enjoys cricket and rugby.
