DWF hosts Scottish travel law seminar

18 April 2018
Essential legal updates and regulatory changes for the Scottish travel industry will be discussed at an event hosted by international legal business DWF at its Glasgow office on Tuesday 24th April 2018.
The Travel Law Update –Scotland conference has been organised by the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) to ensure those in the industry are up to date with the latest changes in the law.

Lawyers from DWF's international claims & travel, litigation, commercial & intellectual property and counter fraud teams will speak at the event. They will cover a range of topics affecting the industry including package travel and ATOL regulations, terms and conditions, gastric illness claims and GDPR.

Jill Sinclair, head of DWF's counter fraud team in Scotland, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with ABTA to host this event. ABTA has been working hard to try to put an end to fraudulent sickness claims and we will explore this issue at the event, as well as best practice in handling other customer claims."

Sara-Jane Eaton, a lead partner of DWF's international claims and travel team, added: "With the summer holiday season approaching, the implementation of GDPR around the corner and changes to the Package Travel Regulations as of 1st July 2018, it is essential that travel businesses are well-informed of the changes that could impact them."
