Majed A. Almarshad becomes DWF's 15th senior hire in its international business in a two-month period, joining as a partner in its Dubai office.
The recruits – which include 14 partners and one director - reflect DWF's focus on international growth. DWF's international business has grown strongly, increasing its headcount and geographical footprint, most recently in Poland. The Company has continued to invest to further strengthen its international proposition and the success of its recruitment demonstrates the attractiveness of DWF’s platform.

Almarshad, a Saudi-qualified lawyer, joins the expanding Dubai office as a commercial partner from AlDahbashi Gray. He joins two other recent appointments in Dubai. Slava Kiryushin joined earlier this month from CMS as a partner and head of the global energy and industrials sector and Thenji Moyo Macanda joined from Taylor Wessing as co-head of the employment practice.

This latest partner appointment follows a series of hires across DWF's international business since early September.  Last month, DWF opened its 4th office in Germany through the recruitment of a team of 10 people, including five partners, from Marccus Partners in Düsseldorf. Norbert Knüppel heads up the team as executive partner, working alongside partners Christof Bremer, Jörn Albrecht, Michael Schley and Norbert Knittlmayer.

In Australia, Kim O'Reilly joined DWF's fast-growing Sydney office from Mills Oakley as a principal lawyer* in the corporate practice.

In Warsaw, partner Pawel Stykowski joined as partner and head of insurance and Tomasz Kaczmarek was appointed as a banking and finance partner. Stykowski and Kaczmarek joined from Eversheds Sutherland and Baker & McKenzie respectively.

In Paris, Alexandre Piette joined DWF from Viguié Schmidt & Associés as a corporate partner and Vincent Lazimi from Vaslin Associés as a partner and tax specialist. Elsewhere in Europe, Daniel Scanlon was appointed as an insurance partner in Dublin, joining from Kennedys and Luca Lo Pò has joined from GLG & Partners as a partner and head of financial services and capital markets in Milan.

Andrew Leaitherland, Group CEO at DWF, said: "It’s been a significant period of recruitment for the business and we are delighted to welcome such a strong group of senior people across our international locations."

In addition to this period of significant international recruitment, DWF has also continued to invest in the UK, including the appointment of JP Buckley as a partner and head of data protection based in the Manchester office. DWF also launched DWF Regulatory Consulting, a Connected Services business, with the appointment of Andrew Jacobs as partner and head of DWF Regulatory Consulting and Darren Fisher as lead director.
