To Mark Social Mobility Awareness Day, we hosted a series of short conversations with people across the business on how they faced and overcame significant challenges related to social mobility.
Social mobility is hard to understand if you have not faced barriers to get to where you are. This series of events offered a valuable opportunity to hear directly from people who have navigated those challenges, sharing their experiences.
Why does this matter? A report from Demos found that greater social mobility could increase UK business profits by £1.8bn per year. Even more strikingly, the UK economy is missing out on £18bn in GDP growth every year due to a systemic failure to promote greater social mobility in the workplace.
Thank you to our speakers and to all who joined us for these meaningful conversations.
