To mark the worldwide event, the international legal business is holding a series of panel discussions where all are invited to raise awareness around this year's theme #PressforProgress. The discussions have been designed to ask the panellists and the audience views on women's progression and gender parity in DWF.
Two Speaker events will be hosted during the second week in Manchester and in Edinburgh where we will welcome a number of inspirational women including, DWF's tax director Caroline Colliston, Nikki Slowey and Lisa Gallagher, joint programme directors of Family Friendly Working Scotland and Susan Fouquier, Regional Managing Director, Royal Bank of Scotland. In Manchester we welcome Rachel Clacher; founder of Moneypenny and the Moneypenny Foundation, Sally Cheshire CBE, Chair of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), Fiona Gunnion, Manager of Smart Works Manchester and Julie Gaskell, Head of Partnerships at Wild in Art which is currently planning to host Bee in the City, sponsored by DWF. This is one of Manchester's biggest public art events which will see more than 80 super-sized insects installed at some of the city's most significant landmarks.
A clothing drive and toiletries collection is also being held in many locations to support charities who help women when they re-enter the workplace where each client is offered a selection of high quality clothing to wear for their interview. The toiletries will be donated to local women's refuges.
Business in the Community's "Same but Different" exhibition has been displayed in the client suite of DWF's London office. A creative project from Business in the Community’s gender equality campaign, in collaboration with photographer Leonora Saunders, which celebrates and shines a light on the diversity of women in our workplaces.
Gail Taylor, Diversity and Community Engagement Manager, said: "DWF is well-known for driving diversity and promoting equality throughout the workplace. Our two week-long campaign has been designed through various activities and events as we continue to show that strong women are continuing to break that mould and are thriving in their career."
