DWF Australia strengthens Employment team with appointment of Sina Zevari

25 February 2019
Sina Zevari
DWF Australia has announced the appointment of Sina Zevari to the position of Principal Lawyer in its national Employment, Safety and Regulatory team.

Sina has started in his new role and is based in DWF’s Sydney office. He will be instrumental in expanding DWF Australia’s Employment team and its offering to clients seeking employment, industrial relations, litigation and arbitration expertise across all sectors.

Sina has practiced as a specialist workplace relations lawyer since 2007, and has been a Law Society of NSW Accredited Specialist in Employment and Industrial Law since 2013.

Sina’s particular areas of expertise and experience include contentious and advisory work on employment matters (including general protections, unfair dismissals, discrimination and breach of contract claims) and a broad range of industrial matters. He joins DWF from Australian Business Lawyers & Advisors.

The appointment further builds on the recent rapid growth of DWF’s fast-growing Australian operation.  Since its launch into the Australian market in January 2017, UK-headquartered DWF has established a strong presence through organic growth as well as strategic acquisitions. DWF’s business model successfully leverages local and global expertise, global technology and complementary business services to expand its Australian operations.

Today’s new hire, along with DWF’s recent strategic hires in Australia, brings the total number of Principal Lawyers to 17 across DWF’s four locations (SydneyBrisbaneNewcastle and Melbourne).

Chairman of DWF APAC, Mark Hickey commented, “We are delighted to welcome Sina to DWF Australia.  Sina is exactly the type of person our business needs to ensure the ongoing growth of our future-focused Australian operation.  He’s smart, recognised as an industry thought leader and has the acumen to understand the business context in which our clients operate.”

Sina Zevari added, “I was attracted to DWF’s clear vision of the future of legal services in Australia.  It is an agile and dynamic team environment where clients have access to the best advice available in this market as well as global best practice.”

DWF launched in Australia with the acquisition of global claims management business, Triton in January 2017. A subsequent merger with a Queensland-based firm brought further offices in Melbourne and Brisbane and most recently, a series of senior hires and a new office led to the establishment of a fourth location in Newcastle.
