DWF, the global legal business, has appointed two new partners in the Insurance Sector with Karen Mann joining in the Fraud and Financial Crime group and Ian Welland joining the Professional Indemnity group.
Karen Mann joins DWF as Partner from Horwich Farrelly. Previous to this she was the Head of the Counter Fraud Group at Greenwoods and managed sites in London, Manchester, Milton Keynes and Southampton. She has extensive experience in personal injury law and specifically in dealing with high value/complex fraud claims as well as a particular interest in multi-party staged claims and fraud rings.

Ian Welland also joins the business with over 25 years' experience in dealing with claims and complaints against professionals, utilising his commercial background and experience in working with a large number of UK and USA Insurers. He is also a part-qualified certified accountant as well as being dual-qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales and Ireland.

Ian re-joins DWF, having been a Partner, and having opened the Bristol office of DWF alongside Simon Mason. His return to DWF's Insurance Sector comes at a time when the Insurance practice is going from strength to strength, having also recently welcomed a number of new additions, including Mike Henham as Partner within the award-winning National Fraud and Financial Crime team.

Lorraine Carolan, National Head of Financial Crime and Fraud at DWF commented, "I am delighted to welcome Karen to DWF. She brings a wealth of experience and will be an asset to the development of the London office and a fantastic addition to the global Fraud and Financial Crime team, continuing to enhance and broaden our services to clients."

Simon Mason, Professional Indemnity Partner at DWF added, "I am excited that Ian is re-joining us as we grow further and stronger. Ian has significant experience of advising insurers and professionals, and is highly respected in the UK professional indemnity insurance market and beyond."
